Reds Place Eugenio Suarez, Scott Schebler On DL
7 years agoThe Cincinnati Reds made a few roster moves on Monday, placing Eugenio Suarez (thumb) and Scott Schebler (elbow) on the 10-day disabled list. Suarez suffered a broken right thumb after getting hit by a pitch during Sunday's loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates. Cliff Pennington and Phil Gosselin are expected to be the primary third basemen for the team while Suarez is out. The team is also expected to bring Alex Blandino, and not top prospect Nick Senzel, up from Triple-A to take Suarez's spot on the active roster. Schebler has missed over a week after getting hit on the elbow by a pitch in what the team is calling a right ulnar contusion. He was said to be making progress but was reportedly still feeling some numbness in the fingers of his right hand.
