7 years agoSeattle Mariners outfielder Ben Gamel (oblique) could return to the team by the end of the week, per MLB.com. Gamel has been on the shelf with a strained oblique and will get in some at-bats at Triple-A Tacoma this week to complete his rehab. The Mariners are being destroyed by injuries right now and could use all the help they can get. It's to the point where they will have to lean on 44-year-old Ichiro Suzuki all week while they wait for Gamel, Nelson Cruz and Ryon Healy to return from their respective injuries. Barring a setback, Gamel may not provide a lot of power when he returns but will inject an offensive boost from the left side of the plate hopefully by the end of the week.--Joey C - RotoBaller
