Jhoulys Chacin Gets Pulled Before Five Innings
7 years agoMilwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Jhoulys Chacin only pitched 4 2/3 innings with five hits, three earned runs, three walks and one strikeout in the 5-4 win over the St. Louis Cardinals. Chacin was rewarded a no-decision in the game. Chacin's game started off weird, as he gave up leadoff hits to both Dexter Fowler and Marcell Ozuna in the first and second innings. However, they were both tagged out trying to extend their hits. Chacin then went on to have a not so great third inning, giving up three walks and eventually giving up three runs as well. The decision to pull Chacin was a little questionable, though, as he was poised to complete a strong fifth inning when Brewers manager Craig Counsell decided to opt for Jeremy Jeffress. Chacin should only be streamed in favorable matchups, and even then there should be better pitchers to stream in standard formats. This game now puts Chacin at a 6.59 ERA in 13 2/3 innings pitched.
