Justin Verlander Dominates the Twins in Shutout Victory
7 years agoHouston Astros starter Justin Verlander pitched seven innings of no-run ball against the Twins on Monday, allowing just four hits and striking out nine. Verlander has been on a tear in 2018, pitching to a 2-0 record with a 1.45 ERA and a 23/4 K/BB ratio. Verlander's 1.45 ERA is the fourth best in baseball among pitchers who have thrown at least 15 innings, while his 23 strikeouts rank tied for fourth. After being dealt from the Tigers prior to the trade deadline last season, Verlander has yet to lose a game during his time in Houston, going 8-0. He'll next face the Texas Rangers, a team that he has pitched well against with a 2.88 ERA and a 134/32 K/BB ratio against.
