7 years agoOakland Athletics outfielder Boog Powell (knee) has a Grade 1 MCL sprain, according to Julian McWilliams of The Athletic. Manager Bob Melvin pointed out that Powell won’t do anything for three weeks. He was put on the disabled list on Saturday for a sprained right knee sustained while running the bases. The Athletics replaced him with Mark Canha. Many are calling for prospect Dustin Fowler to be called up, but the team has already stated they want Fowler to get more at-bats in Triple-A. Currently, Fowler is hitting .286. If he were to go on a tear, it would be tough for the Athletics to keep him down with an open spot available.--Ellis Canady - RotoBaller
