7 years agoBoston Red Sox shortstop Xander Bogaerts (ankle) is recovering to the point where he no longer needs a walking boot for a bone crack in his ankle, according to Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe. Bogaerts stated that he still has pain but the amount has reduced a lot in a few days. Initially, the X-rays were unable to detect the specific injury, but an MRI was successful in identifying the crack in his left ankle. He is expected to miss two weeks after sliding into a dugout chasing a foul ball. Infielder Brock Holt is replacing him at shortstop.--Ellis Canady - RotoBaller
