Jacob Barnes Blows Save In Loss
7 years agoMilwaukee Brewers relief pitcher Jacob Barnes gave up two walks, two wild pitches and struck out one in two-thirds of an inning in the 5-3 loss to the St. Louis Cardinals. Barnes was absolutely all over the place, as he gave up two wild pitches, one of which put Tommy Pham on third, and then one that allowed Pham to score. Barnes then proceeded to walk Dexter Fowler right after and was very lucky to make it out of the ninth inning with a tie game. Barnes was one of three Brewers pitchers to be saddled with a blown save, and that now puts him at two blown saves on the year. With Matt Albers blowing the save Monday night -- but he came out for a very strong second inning -- they may give some looks to Dan Jennings or Jeremy Jeffress for save opportunities in the future. However, Albers looks to be the safest bet thus far.
