Jesse Winker Returns To Lineup, Drives In One
7 years agoCincinnati Reds outfielder Jesse Winker returned to the lineup on Tuesday after a one-game absence due to an illness. The 24-year-old went 1-for-3 with one RBI in his team's 6-1 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies. The illness was never considered serious, as Winker was able to appear as a pinch-hitter on Monday. He is off to a solid start as the Reds primary leadoff hitter, slashing .269/.457/.269 with three RBI, three runs and eight walks. He will take his cuts against Phillies right-hander Nick Pivetta on Wednesday as the two teams continue their series.
