Billy Hamilton Reaches Base Three Times
7 years agoCincinnati Reds outfielder Billy Hamilton had a solid game against the St. Louis Cardinals on Friday night. Hamilton, batting leadoff, went 1-for-2 with a single, two walks and a run scored. The single raises Hamilton's batting average to .184 on the year with a .537 OPS, nine runs, two RBI, and four stolen bases. While Hamilton's batting average is ugly, he is drawing walks at a 17.4% rate this season, well above his career average of 6.8%. If this is not just a fluke and he has improved his eye at the plate, it would give him additional fantasy value as he will have more chances to score and steal bases, which is what he does best.
