7 years agoToronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Marcus Stroman was viewed as one of the safest, if not spectacular, options at the position heading into 2018. Three starts into the year, he’s been anything but safe. Stroman once again struggled on Friday, this time against the Cleveland Indians. He allowed four earned runs across five innings pitched, surrendering nine hits and two walks while striking out two. This one actually lowered his ERA on the year. Across 14 2/3 innings pitched, Stroman owns a 7.98 ERA and 1.91 WHIP, striking out 16 with 10 free passes. Opposing hitters are crushing him to the tune of a .295 batting average. Stroman is eventually going to pick things up, but it obviously hasn’t been good so far. If he can’t turn things around at home on Wednesday against the Kansas City Royals, our concerns here will increase tenfold.--John Smith
