Teoscar Hernandez Has Successful Debut
7 years agoToronto Blue Jays outfielder Teoscar Hernandez was called up to the Majors on Friday after third baseman Josh Donaldson hit the disabled list, and he did not disappoint in his 2018 debut. Hernandez finished 2-for-5 with two doubles, two RBI and a stolen base. The steal was the first of his career. You can’t ask for much more than that. So long as outfielders Curtis Granderson and Steve Pearce serve as the team’s designated hitter, and Toronto can afford the roster spot, Hernandez should continue to see playing time. We wouldn’t expect much fantasy appeal here outside of the occasional pop though; across 213 plate appearances Hernandez owns a .249/.307/.513 slash line with 12 home runs.
