7 years agoAn MRI for San Diego Padres right handed pitcher Dinelson Lamet (elbow) revealed ligament damage in his elbow and he will undergo Tommy John Surgery. Lamet will miss the 2018 season and the beginning of 2019 also. This is a tough blow for the Padres and Lamet, who was widely expected to progress as one of the team's exciting young arms this season. Lamet had considered rehabbing the elbow before ultimately opting for surgery. Lamet was a late-round sleeper pick with strikeout upside for many fantasy drafters this preseason but he may now safely be dropped outside of dynasty leagues. Lamet was moved to the 60-day DL on Saturday and his roster spot was taken by Tyler Webb.--Andrew Le - RotoBaller
