Erasmo Ramirez Possibly One Rehab Start Away From Returning
7 years agoSeattle Mariners starter Erasmo Ramirez (lat) will pitch possibly his last rehab game Tuesday at Triple-A Tacoma, per MLB.com. Ramirez has been on the shelf since suffering a right lat strain at the beginning of spring training. Ramirez tossed four innings in his last rehab start and told reporters afterwards he is completely healed. The Mariners will have some roster decisions to make coming up with Ramirez, catcher Mike Zunino and outfielder Ben Gamel on the doorsteps of returning. Tuesday night's starter Ariel Miranda may be optioned back to the minors after the game to make room for Ramirez. Ramirez should be expected to be on a pitch count for a few starts when he returns.
