Carlos Correa Hitting Only .154 With Runners In Scoring Position
7 years agoHouston Astros shortstop Carlos Correa has cooled off over the last week, hitting only .250 over his last five games with no extra-base hits. He also has driven in only three runs over his last 10 games and has struggled early on hitting with runners in scoring position. He has only seen 13 at-bats in these situations but is hitting only .154. Let's be clear, this is a very small sample size. But if fantasy owners are wondering why their first-round pick has slumped recently, they can probably point to this area of his game. Conversely, Correa tortured opposing pitchers hitting with runners in scoring position in 2017, slashing .331/.405/.554 with 17 extra-base hits and 60 runs driven in. Correa has all of the tools and talent to right the ship and should begin producing soon, but he will need to improve in this area to get back to his elite level.
