7 years agoSeattle Mariners starter Ariel Miranda has been optioned to Triple-A to make room for outfielder Ben Gamel's return, per MLB.com. It seems now Miranda was called up strictly to start on Tuesday, throwing five innings of one-run baseball in the Mariners 4-1 loss to the Astros. Despite the solid start, Miranda is currently the odd man out in the Seattle starting rotation despite winning 13 games last season. He struggled mightily to finish 2017, posting a 6.14 ERA in the second half and finished the season with 37 home runs allowed. Miranda will go back to the minors but will be the first man up if the major league rotation suffers an injury in the near future.--Joey C - RotoBaller
