Yoenis Cespedes Breaks Slump
7 years agoIt may have only been two games, but it certainly looks as if New York Mets outfielder Yoenis Cespedes is breaking out of his horrific slump. Cespedes finished 2-for-5 with a grand slam, two runs scored, and four RBI in the Mets 11-5 victory over the Washington Nationals on Wednesday. Cespedes seemed to be putting better swings on the ball all night, but he put an explanation point on the game with the eighth-inning slam that put the game out of reach. This effort comes after a two-hit game on Tuesday that foreshadowed Wednesday's monster showing. Cespedes’ batting average went from .186 to .217 over that span. It looks as though Yo may be about to go on one of his famed hot streaks that fantasy owners have become accustomed to over the years. If you took him out of your lineup, now is the time to put him back in.
