Kevin Pillar’s Hitting Streak Ends
7 years agoIt seems like every year Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Kevin Pillar goes on an extended hitting streak of some kind at some point. This year, he may have gotten it out of the way early. Pillar finished 0-for-3 against the New York Yankees on Thursday, ending his hitting streak at a cool nine games. Over the course of the streak, Pillar slashed .400/.432/.571 without a home run or stolen base, but did score eight runs and drive in six. Pillar does have one home run and three stolen bases for the year, however. We hesitate on recommending Pillar despite the fantastic streak. Traditionally, he goes into a massive slump once his hot play comes to an end. If he gets back on track over the weekend, however, he’ll be a much more attractive add.
