Tommy Pham's Groin Issue Appears Minor
7 years agoThe St. Louis Cardinals held outfielder Tommy Pham (groin) out of action on Saturday, but manager Mike Matheny suggested to reporters that Pham could have played and was available to pinch-hit, even though he didn't appear in the game. Pham is nursing a sore groin, which caused him to miss a few games earlier in the week. He returned to action on Friday but the Cardinals plan to ease him back instead of rushing him back and risking further injury. The team has an off-day on Monday, so there's a good chance they hold him out for a second consecutive game on Sunday to allow him to heal. Be sure to check on the Cardinals' lineup on Sunday if you rely on Pham for your fantasy team.
