7 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers starter and top pitching prospect Walker Buehler cruised in his major league starting debut on Monday versus the Marlins. The first pitch out of the young fireballer's hand was clocked at 98.3 mph and he threw one at 101.3 mph, the second fastest pitch this season behind Jordan Hicks' 101.6 heater. That officially makes Buehler the hardest throwing pitcher in the rotation. Buehler eventually threw five innings of shutout baseball, giving up four hits, striking out five and walking three. All four hits against him were singles. Manager Dave Roberts has said that they'll keep Buehler around for the Giants series this weekend since the Dodgers have a doubleheader scheduled on Saturday. Though he's officially on an innings limit this year, expect the Dodgers to use him regularly in their quest to return to the World Series. Buehler is worth stashing, even if he gets sent down, if you have the space on your bench.--Mario Hernandez - RotoBaller
