7 years agoNew York Mets outfielder Jay Bruce has struggled to start 2018, likely due to the reoccurrence of his ongoing battle with plantar fasciitis in his foot. A disabled list stint has always been a possibility, but it certainly doesn’t look needed at the moment. Bruce broke out in a big way in a 6-5 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals on Tuesday, finishing 3-for-5 with a triple, a home run, and two RBI. The triple got the Mets on the board when they were down 2-0, and the home run came in the 10th inning to give the Amazins’ a 6-5 lead and the victory. If Bruce is truly picking things up here in late-April, he’ll be a valuable fantasy commodity in just about every league.--John Smith
