BALLER MOVE: Add in All Leagues
OWNED IN: 52% of leagues
ANALYSIS: New York Yankees' outfielder Aaron Hicks is coming off a breakout 2017 campaign in which he batted .266/.372/.475 with 15 home runs, 10 stolen bases and 54 runs scored in just 301 at-bats. There was a reasonable amount of excitement coming into the year with Hicks slated to be the Yankees' everyday center fielder before an intercostal strain sidelined him to begin the season. That may have been considered a red flag by fantasy owners considering that Hicks has missed time with an injury in every season he has been in the majors. This caused many owners to drop the Yankees' outfielder and for many leagues to leave him on the waiver wire.
Now that Hicks is back, healthy, and hitting, he is well worth a roster spot in all leagues due to his potential in the lethal Yankees' lineup. Over 11 games this season, Hicks is hitting .270/.426/.459 with two home runs and six RBI. He currently finds himself batting in the lower half of the lineup, but an increase in his walk rate (21.3%) this season could move Hicks to the leadoff spot if Brett Gardner continues to struggle. Hicks could be a lethal fantasy player hitting on top of the New York lineup, possibly among the league leaders in runs scored. However, he is still worthy of an add in all mixed leagues regardless due to the power and speed potential he provides. If Hicks can stay healthy a near 20/20 season is not out of the question. Be sure to add him before he someone else does.
