Jesus Aguilar Slots In At First Base For Brewers
7 years agoMilwaukee Brewers first baseman Jesus Aguilar will play at first base on Wednesday against the Kansas City Royals. After it was announced that Eric Thames had suffered a UCL tear in his thumb, this now most likely gives Aguilar the everyday spot at first base with Ryan Braun also seeing some starts there as well. Because of the designated hitter in Kansas City though, Braun, Aguilar and Domingo Santana will all get to play. With the emergence of Aguilar as a solid option off the bench -- he currently rocks a .429 batting average with a .629 slugging percentage -- it will be interesting to see how he performs with an everyday spot. He's definitely worth a flier in deeper leagues and may even be useful in 12-team leagues, depending on your depth at the corner infield spots.
