BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 43% of leagues
ANALYSIS: Texas Rangers outfielder Delino DeShields dealt with a hand injury at the beginning of the season, but fantasy owners seem to have given up on him. While his 5-for-27 start to the season is not great, he does already have two stolen bases and had 29 steals in 120 games last season.
Speed is the key strength for DeShields, as he only has 68 extra-base hits in 1165 career plate appearances and 23 extra-base hits in 2017. While this is not good, DeShields has stolen as many as 101 bases in a minor league season and had two other minor league seasons where he topped 50 stolen bases. If he is able to post an OBP near .350 (.347 in 2017), look for him to approach 30 stolen bases once again and score a good amount of runs in a strong Rangers lineup.
DeShields and the Rangers have tough matchups against the Indians and Red Sox this week, but that should not scare fantasy owners away. He will still contribute with runs scored and stolen bases, making him a nice addition for those looking for speed.
