7 years agoToronto Blue Jays third baseman Josh Donaldson has been out of action since April 11 due to right shoulder inflammation, but it sounds as though his rehab is progressing to the point he could be nearing his return. On Friday, Donaldson resumed throwing to bases at the Blue Jays’ spring training complex, though the team isn’t sure when he’ll begin a rehab assignment. Assuming that happens within the next few days, Donaldson is probably between one and two weeks away from making his comeback. In 12 games played prior to the injury, Donaldson’s average was well below what you’d hope for (.239), with his on-base percentage (.352) and slugging percentage (.457) good but not Donaldson-esque. He did hit three home runs in the short time span he has played though, and so you should have all the confidence in the world he’ll get back to normal soon after returning.--John Smith
