7 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers starter Hyun-Jin Ryu pitched another solid outing on Friday, only to have the win squandered by the bullpen. Ryu threw 5 2/3 innings of two-run, four-hit baseball, striking out seven and walking none. The two runs came on home runs to Evan Longoria and Brandon Crawford. Ryu even helped himself out, knocking in a two runs with a double that booted Giants starter Derek Holland from the game. At 89 pitches, Ryu was removed after getting drilled by a Buster Posey comebacker. He now owns an impressive 0.85 WHIP on the season and has 34 strikeouts and nine walks in just 28 1/3 innings. Five of those walks, it should be noted, came in his first and only disastrous outing of the season. He has clearly regained the mojo of his rookie campaign and can be safely deployed against all teams in mixed leagues. He'll toe the rubber next against the Diamondbacks in Arizona on Wednesday.--Mario Hernandez - RotoBaller
