7 years agoChicago White Sox starting pitcher Lucas Giolito was effective in Wednesday's start against St. Louis, throwing 6 1/3 innings and allowing three earned runs. Giolito punched out seven batters while scattering four hits and two walks. He did give up two home runs, which led to the loss. However, the start was still encouraging for Giolito owners, especially compared to his horrific performance in 2018 thus far. Giolito's seven strikeouts were more than he totaled in his last three starts combined. His next start lines up at home against the Pirates next week.--Phil Goyette
