7 years agoWhen you lose the game 7-0 and your ace starting pitcher departs early due to injury, you can safely say just about nothing went right. Unless you’re New York Mets outfielder Yoenis Cespedes, of course. It may have been a depressing night overall for the Amazins, but Cespedes was the lone highlight by finishing 1-for-4 with a double. Cespedes’ hitting streak now stands at eight games. He’s accumulated two home runs, three doubles and eight RBI over the course of the streak. He and the rest of the Mets offense will look to get things rolling against Braves starting pitcher Julio Teheran on Thursday, a pitcher Cespedes is only hitting .222 against in 18 career at-bats.--John Smith
