James Paxton K's 16 But Mariners Lose
7 years agoSeattle Mariners starter James Paxton struck out a career-high 16 hitters and pitched seven shutout innings in the Mariners 3-2 loss to the A's. Seattle's bullpen blew the win for Paxton on a night when the left-hander dominated on each and every one of his 105 pitches. He allowed only five hits and lowered his ERA to 4.19. That's now two strong starts in a row for Paxton, who has struck out 26 batters over his last 13 innings. The 2017 ace of the Mariners staff will look to keep it rolling for his next start.
