7 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers starter Walker Buehler will officially take the rotation spot formerly occupied by Hyun-Jin Ryu (groin). Ryu suffered a gruesome groin injury on Wednesday and was placed on the disabled list Thursday. Buehler is the team's top pitching prospect and he's been as advertised in his first two career starts. He's given up two earned runs (both scored in one of his 11 innings pitched) while striking out 11 and walking four. Three of those walks came in his first outing. He features a lightning bolt of a fastball and three above-average secondary pitches. He was supposed to have a 150-inning limit this year, but the Dodgers are in a bit of a freefall and will need him as long as he's effective.
