BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 36% of leagues
ANALYSIS: St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Dexter Fowler is only hitting .170 this season, but there are still a lot of good results for Fowler, even with the poor batting average. He has hit four home runs, stolen two bases, and has also walked 13 times in 117 plate appearances.
A lot of the drop off in Fowler's statistics can be seen in his batted ball statistics, as his soft hit ball rate jumped from 12.7% to 20.8% and his hard hit ball rate has dropped from 38.1% to 31.2% over the last year. While his 2017 soft ball rate was the second best of his career and his hard hit ball rate was the best of his career, it is still a bit disappointing that he has seen a drop off. This could be why his BABIP is .178 this season, but he has a career 30.5% hard hit ball rate and still has a .335 BABIP for his career. His line drive rate at a career worst 16.9% is less than ideal, but he is in a great spot for his season to turn around.
Matchups against the Twins and Padres are also solid for Fowler and the Cardinals, with Fowler in a position for run production. He is a good addition as a streamer this week and has OF3 upside if he can get on the right track.
