7 years agoToronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Joe Biagini is very talented, but he’s going to have to start showing that at some point in 2018 to justify the sleeper hype some fantasy owners were attributing to him this past spring. He did not perform well in a spot start against the Cleveland Indians in the second game of a doubleheader on Thursday, allowing six earned runs on 10 hits and a walk while striking out four. It was Biagini’s second spot start of the year, and he now owns an 8.10 ERA after 10 innings pitched. With his current 5.17 ERA for Triple-A Buffalo this year, he’s not doing himself any favors in hopes of cracking the rotation down the line this year. Still, he’s too talented to not get opportunities, and we’ll likely see him back at some point soon. He’s worth keeping an eye on.--John Smith
