Delino DeShields Swipes 2 Bags in Loss
7 years agoTexas Rangers outfielder Delino DeShields Jr. stole two bases in a 6-1 losing effort against the Boston Red Sox. The steals were DeShields' 5th and 6th of the season on just 71 plate appearances, making him one of the more prolific speed options in baseball. Stolen bases have been tough to get ahead of so far in 2018, with only Dee Gordon and Mike Trout listed among the usual suspects of great options. But with a strong average and improving power along with that elite speed, DeShields makes a better cheap speed option than fellow top-10 guys like Rajai Davis, Craig Gentry, and Tim Anderson.
