Josh Reddick Mired In Slump
7 years agoHouston Astros outfielder Josh Reddick has cooled off at the plate over the last three weeks, going only 8-for-45 (.177) since April 22. The power has really disappeared for Reddick during this span, as he's posted only one extra-base hit and only two runs batted in. The veteran posted career highs in batting average (.314), slugging percentage (.484) and OPS (.847) in 2017 as a stable run producer last season for the World Series champs. A regression was certainly in the cards this season, but his lack of extra-base hits this season (only eight through 105 at-bats) is a bit alarming. Reddick is a fringe fantasy option, at best, when he's going right, but he is not a viable option except in deep, AL-only leagues at this time. He does, however, have an intriguing Monday night matchup against the A's Brett Anderson. In the smallest of sample sizes, Reddick is 3-for-3 lifetime against Anderson with one home run.
