Fernando Romero Impresses In Second Start
7 years agoMinnesota Twins rookie right-hander Fernando Romero impressed again in his second career start, this time against the St. Louis Cardinals. The 23-year-old pitched six scoreless innings, allowing just three hits while striking out nine. Despite the results, it wasn't a perfect outing as Romero struggled with his control, throwing just 57 of 97 pitches for strikes. Romero has been extremely effective in his first two big league starts, pitching 11 2/3 scoreless innings while racking up 14 strikeouts and walking six batters. One of the Twins' top pitching prospects, Romero is a solid add in any league where you have room to add an extra starting pitcher, although his control issues could eventually start to impact him on the mound if he doesn't get them straightened out.
