7 years agoThe status of New York Mets outfielder Yoenis Cespedes was uncertain at best after he left Sunday’s game against the Colorado Rockies due to a sore right quadriceps. After stretching at Great American Ballpark on Monday prior to the series opener against the Cincinnati Reds, the Mets deemed Cespedes good to go, and boy are they glad they did. Cespedes finished 2-for-4 with two doubles, one RBI and one run scored. After getting off to a very slow start batting average-wise, Cespedes has rebounded in a big way as of late. He’s raised that figure from .200 on April 25 to .254 as of Monday, a span of 12 games. Add in his seven home runs, 27 RBI and three stolen bases, and Cespedes is having himself a great year after the tough start.--John Smith
