7 years agoChicago White Sox starting pitcher Miguel Gonzalez (shoulder) was seen throwing off the mound Tuesday. Manager Rick Renteria and pitching coach Don Cooper watched as Gonzalez threw to Avisail Garcia. This is an encouraging sign for Gonzalez's recovery. He has been on the disabled list since April 9 with right rotator cuff inflammation. Gonzalez should slot back into the White Sox rotation when he returns, but do not get your hopes up that he will save your fantasy squad. Gonzalez is simply an innings eater at this point in his career, and the White Sox are one of the worst teams in baseball. For example, it is hard for a starting pitcher to pick up wins when his team has posted a 9-23 record so far this season.--Phil Goyette
