7 years agoOakland Athletics starting pitcher Daniel Mengden took the loss despite a strong performance against the Astros on Tuesday. He pitched 6 2/3 innings, allowing only two runs on six hits while striking out four and walking none. Mengden had six scoreless innings until he gave up two back-to-back solo homers to Max Stassi and Derek Fisher. Mengden performed well, despite a very tough opponent. He will have to make it two in a row if he plans on beings successful against the Red Sox in his next start.--Ellis Canady - RotoBaller
