7 years agoLos Angeles Angels reliever Blake Wood (elbow) threw off a mound for the first time on Wednesday and will repeat the workout again on Friday. If all goes well, he could begin a rehab assignment next week. The team won't provide an exact timetable, but Wood could be back with the team in a little over a week. The reliever has posted a 2.31 ERA in 11 2/3 innings on the year. He does not figure into the closing mix in LA at the moment, however, so he is best utilized in deep holds leagues when healthy.--patton
