7 years agoSan Diego Padres closer Brad Hand escaped with his 11th save Sunday against the St. Louis Cardinals. Spotted a three-run lead, Hand gave up a solo homer to lead off the inning then also walked two hitters and hit a batter before settling down with two consecutive strikeouts to end the game. For the season, Hand holds a 2.61 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 14.4 K/9 in 19 appearances. Despite a few skittish outings, he's still been mostly excellent as the Padres primary ninth inning man. Hand's job security is as safe as any closer in baseball.--Andrew Le - RotoBaller
