7 years agoAtlanta Falcons rookie wide receiver Calvin Ridley, a first-round pick, saw action returning kickoffs and punts and played both the slot and on the outside in the offense on Saturday at rookie minicamp. “The first impression was that I recognized the competitor that he was because he wanted every rep,” head coach Dan Quinn said. “That’s a good thing. He wanted to go for it, but today we were trying to feature some of the guys that we wanted to take a look at. He didn’t get as many reps today and I know there was some disappointment on his end.” With Julio Jones, Mohamed Sanu and Justin Hardy on offense, it may be hard for Ridley to carve out a big role on offense in his rookie year.
