7 years agoCincinnati Reds first baseman Joey Votto left Monday's game early with lower back tightness. Votto was replaced at first base by Adam Duvall in the bottom of the fourth inning in a game against the San Francisco Giants. The star first baseman has already been ruled out for Tuesday but the good news is that the injury does not appear to be serious. According to interim manager Jim Riggleman, "He let me know before the game it was nagging a little bit." For now, it appears Votto will avoid a stint on the disabled list. He can be considered day-to-day.--Matt T - RotoBaller
