7 years agoThe power of Toronto Blue Jays first baseman Justin Smoak has gone into hibernation after a breakout 2017, but over the last few days he’s showing signs of emerging from that cave. In a 12-1 route of the New York Mets on Wednesday, Smoak finished 2-for-4 with a home run, a double, two runs scored, three RBI, and a walk. The longball was only Smoak’s sixth of the season, but now he has two in his last four games after not hitting any since April 30. This isn’t an indication that Smoak’s power is here to say, but it’s definitely what you want to see from the late-blooming 31-year-old.--John Smith
