ANALYSIS: While outfield mates Franmil Reyes, Franchy Cordero, and Manuel Margot are more hyped players, San Diego Padres outfielder Travis Jankowski has been the most productive this season. Hitting .370 in plate appearances, Jankowski has a hit in six of his last seven games, including four multi-hit games.

While Jankowski is not a power threat, he has hit two triples, stolen five bases while not being caught, and has scored 11 runs already. Jankowski has scored a run in four of the last five games and also has a stolen base in three of the last five games, including one in Friday's 2-for-4 effort against the Pirates. A 2012 first-round pick by San Diego, Jankowski had as many as 71 stolen bases in a single season in the minor leagues and stole 30 bases for the Padres in 2016.

A .463 BABIP will likely led to his batting average drop heavily, particularly with his 21.4% hard hit ball rate and 66.7% ground ball rate, but the speed is real. If the Padres give Jankowski consistent playing time, he could approach the 30 stolen bases that he had in 2016. Unfortunately, as stated above, the outfield in San Diego is very crowded (not even mentioning Wil Myers, who is on the DL with an oblique injury), so Jankowski will likely only be a bench player. Even so, he is a good source of speed in deeper leagues who should start while he is on a hot hitting streak.
