6 years agoNew York Mets starting pitcher Jason Vargas will next take the hill on Monday against the Miami Marlins. Vargas was skipped on his last turn through the rotation in an attempt to give the veteran some time to try and get himself straightened out. Vargas has arguably been the worst pitcher in baseball among his three starts so far, allowing a minimum of four runs and a maximum of nine runs while not throwing more than 4 2/3 innings pitched in any of his outings. With Vargas starting on Monday, originally scheduled starting pitcher Zack Wheeler will take the mound on Tuesday instead. Despite the attractive matchup, it goes without saying you should be staying far away from any starting pitcher who hasn’t allowed less than four earns while not throwing more than 4 2/3 innings in any start thus far.--John Smith
