7 years agoWashington Nationals outfielder Howie Kendrick left the first game of Saturday's doubleheader in the top of the eighth inning with a leg injury. Kendrick was catching a sacrifice fly by Max Muncie that scored Justin Turner when he felt something in his right leg. He dropped, holding the back of his leg, and had to be carted off the field. He had also just tried to leg out a double in the seventh but was thrown out by Joc Pederson. Kendrick has been a valuable utilityman with the Nationals once again being plagued by injuries this season. Andrew Stevenson replaced Kendrick in left but the injury leaves the team with one less player for their second game.--Mario Hernandez - RotoBaller
