6 years agoWashington Nationals reliever Ryan Madson has been sent to the DL with a sore pectoral muscle. Madson had been unable to pitch in Saturday's game due to chest soreness. Nationals manager had been using Madson in a setup role ahead of closer Sean Doolittle. Madson, 37, had some bad luck this season, as his actual ERA (4.19) was well above his FIP (2.16). He also racked up three saves and six holds in 18 appearances. Look for more details on what Madson's 'pectoral tightness' actually entails before making the decision to drop him.--Phil Goyette
