7 years agoMiami Marlins starting pitcher Elieser Hernandez had another good start on Monday against the Mets but was let down by his team's offense and earned his first loss of the season. Hernandez allowed one run on five hits while striking out three over five innings in just his second start of the year. In two starts, Hernandez has five strikeouts while allowing two runs on eight hits and one walk over 10 innings of work. While his numbers aren't flashy in any way, he's shown in the minors the potential to be a high-strikeout pitcher, and those numbers could begin to show up over his next few starts as he gets more comfortable against major league hitting. That being said, his next start will be on Sunday against the Washington Nationals, so those who might be looking at him as a streaming option should avoid him there.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
