7 years agoNew York Mets catcher Devin Mesoraco (elbow) will not be in the starting lineup for the second game of the series with the Miami Marlins on Tuesday. He’ll be available off the bench, however. During Monday’s game, Mesoraco was hit on the elbow by the backswing of Marlins third baseman Brian Anderson. X-rays were negative, however, and Mesoraco said he did not feel any pain. He stayed in the game, so it does sound like he is fine overall. Still, a day off could do Mesoraco some good so the soreness doesn’t worsen. Tomas Nido will start in Mesoraco’s place but doesn’t carry any fantasy appeal.--John Smith
