7 years agoAfter going only three innings in his last start, Miami Marlins starter Caleb Smith had his longest start of May on Tuesday night, throwing 6 2/3 innings of one-run ball against the Mets. Smith allowed the one run on just three hits and two walks while striking out eight — the most in a start for him this month. Fantasy owners looking at Smith as a streaming option will have to closely scrutinize each matchup, because while he has six starts this season of at least five innings with seven or more strikeouts, he also has three starts with three or fewer innings pitched and three or more earned runs. That being said, he appears to have a very good matchup in his next start pitching at San Diego.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
