Luis Guillorme Starting Against Marlins
7 years agoNew York Mets infielder Luis Guillorme has been a pleasant surprise with his bat in his short Major League career, and he’ll get a chance to continue that against the Miami Marlins on Wednesday. Guillorme is starting at third base and hitting seventh against right-hander Dan Straily. It makes sense that Guillorme would start today; Jose Reyes has been completely unproductive and made a crucial error on Tuesday that cost the Mets the game, while Wilmer Flores generally starts against lefties. Guillorme is slashing .286/.357/.643 through 14 career plate appearances thus far, and while those numbers will obviously decline, he was performing better than expected at the plate even for Triple-A Las Vegas this season. He still shouldn’t be owned in any fantasy leagues yet, though.
